Current Team Position: #? (out of 24)

• Today was Position Round (i.e. the team in first place bowls on lane 1, second place on lane 2, etc.)
• We were in fourth place before the day began.  One of the requests of the league at the beginning of the season is that we move down a pair of lanes for each Position Round there is during the season.  (There are 2 or 3 different Position Rounds during the season.) Therefore, we bowled on lane 10, and the third place team [our opponents for the day] bowled on lane 9.
• Once again, it's always interesting to see how much sandbagging goes on at the end of the season. Our opponents beat us by over 60 pins in the first game, and over 90 pins in the second game. (Their lead-off bowler, with a 136 book average, bowled a 195 for the second game. Impressive, isn't it?) Then, in order to save their book averages for the non-ABC sanctioned money play-offs next week, they bowled lousy during the third game. Once again, Position Round has an entirely different meaning for the Alley Cats.
